Recognize your team’s achievements with Black Opal custom awards
From day one, Black Opal has enabled its learners to celebrate their achievements with eye-catching, shareable microcredentials: badges for every skill completed, and an industry-recognized certificate to reward those who complete the entire course.
Our users love recognition badges and certificates. And following the launch of our course customization content assignment feature, we’ve also heard from L&D managers and curriculum administrators that they would like to recognize completion of the bespoke learning pathways they have set up in Black Opal.
We’re excited to launch custom awards to do exactly that. Every content assignment created in Black Opal will now have a corresponding award for enrolled users to earn, recognizing their achievement of the learning goals laid out for them. And because each content assignment is unique, the award can be customized in terms of which skills it comprises, title, and the issuing organization to align with the needs of any educational program.
Your course, your award
Our content assignment feature lets you create custom learning pathways through Black Opal’s skills. Now, an award will be automatically configured following the creation of each new assignment.
This recognizes the achievements of all your learners when they complete a custom pathway, and fitting seamlessly into your existing course administration workflow.
Each award is customized to match its learning pathway. The name of each award is set to match the assignment, and can therefore match the goals of your program or cohort: you might set up “Quantum for leaders” or “Advanced quantum computing” completion awards, for example.
Each custom award will also feature the organization’s name, aligning the achievement with your quantum learning program, your learner’s goals, and your organization.
Showcase awards to your networks
Awards, like badges and certificates, are easily added to a LinkedIn profile, shared to social media, or posted in Microsoft Teams or Slack.
The shareable link provides a visual preview of the award, as well as an outline of the concepts learned to achieve it. The award provides proof and recognition to yourself, colleagues, managers, or teachers.
Permanent proof of your learner’s achievements
Just as with badges and certificates, custom awards are permanent proof of a learner’s achievement. They will remain publicly accessible via a secure public link even if a user no longer has access to Black Opal.
Custom awards are also proudly on display in the achievements sidebar within Black Opal. Opening it displays awards alongside any completed badges and certificates for easy access and sharing.
No setup required
Every content assignment created will have an associated award, automatically featuring the name of the pathway and the organization that created it, with no additional effort required.
Not only that, but awards have been issued retrospectively for all past content assignment completions! Users may simply log in to view the awards in the achievement sidebar.
