See Ironstone Opal in action at the Singapore Airshow

Q-CTRL is the world leader in quantum navigation, delivering GPS-like positioning accuracy where GPS is unavailable or denied. Using software-ruggedized quantum sensors, our technology has been validated across airborne, ground, and maritime platforms and provides a new class of GPS backup that cannot be jammed, spoofed, or detected.

The problem

GPS denial is posing new economic and security risks: are your systems resilient enough?

GPS is the gold standard with growing limits

GPS is ingrained in our economy and defense operations, but is becoming increasingly vulnerable to outages or strategic disruptions.

Widespread disruptions

GPS denial has become rampant worldwide, disrupting commercial shipping, passenger transportation, and defense operations. Over 1,000 commercial flights per day are subject to GPS denial posing a new safety risk.

Overreliance on GPS threatens autonomy

Conflict zones have illustrated how a reliance on GPS can limit the utility of new autonomous systems. Realizing true autonomy across domains requires new solutions.

THE solution

Navigate using Earth’s geophysical signatures

Quantum navigation is built on ultrasensitive and ultrastable quantum sensors that serve as a new set of eyes to see otherwise hidden features of the Earth. Ironstone Opal uses these new eyes to compare measured variations in Earth's gravity and magnetic fields against a map, just as visual navigation enables position fixing by comparing observed features to a reference map.

Unlike visual navigation, quantum navigation works in any weather or visibility condition, over water, and at night. Ironstone Opal does not rely on any external RF or optical signals, making it unjammable, unspoofable, and undetectable.

FOR Defense

Navigate reliably in contested environments

Unlock new capabilities and missions

GPS denial is a critical vulnerability to uncrewed autonomous vehicles (UAVs), with jamming and spoofing threats an ever present risk to mission success. Operating securely anywhere, under any conditions, Ironstone Opal unlocks a new set of mission profiles and capabilities for UAVs.

FOR COMMERCIAL Aviation

GPS denial is a growing risk to aviation operations

GPS denial is an ongoing threat

GPS denial is a critical vulnerability in modern navigation, with jamming and spoofing threats an ever present risk to safe and efficient operations. Its impacts are felt every day, with 70% of pilots rating concern over GPS denial events “very high or extreme”.

Ironstone Opal is a compact, high-performance quantum navigation system that cannot be jammed or spoofed and has been validated to deliver bounded positioning accuracy over long-duration flights.

Ironstone Opal is easy to integrate into your fleet, and even easier to operate

• Integrate seamlessly: Connect to existing avionics systems – no infrastructure changes required.

• Start immediately: No initial tuning flights required for training or calibration.

• Ensure cross-fleet compatibility: One solution is self-calibrating for any aircraft in any configuration.

• Leverage existing workflows: Magnetic map data distributed through Navigation database and electronic flight bag providers.
